The trio played locally and recorded two independent releases. Radish earned a cult following around the world and earned a top-40 hit. At the age of 18, Ben moved to NYC and began his solo career which showcased a wide variety of sound from quirky pop, to folk, to punk rock. His 2012 release of ‘Go Fly a Kite’ hits hard with the unforgettably melodic and heartwarming fuzzed-out Rock ‘n’ Roll that first put Kweller on the map. Kweller proves that he has progressed yet managed to keep the deft songwriting sensibility and diversity for which he is known and loved. While appearing effortless, it’s clear how hard he has worked on making one of the finest albums of his career.

He recalls playing to empty clubs, getting high with Jeff Buckley, and forming his own band. As Doughty and Soul Coughing, his ’90s alternative rock group, rose in popularity and fame, his drug use spiraled out of control as he abused marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and acid.

Mike will be performing at the Coach House this Thursday, April 12th. He’ll read gleefully dark, haunted, and funny stories about addiction, the rise and bitter collapse of his band Soul Coughing, playing songs in between. There will even be a Q&A with the audience.

Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, producer and recording artist, Mike Viola will also be performing. Mike became known for not only creating music for award-winning films (“Get Him To The Greek,” “Walk Hard,” “That Thing You Do!”), but also writing and producing for other artists (Mandy Moore, Rachael Yamagata, Tim Christensen, Gin Wigmore).

At this point in his career, Piazza has been recording longer than his mentor George “Harmonica” Smith did, or Sonny Boy Williamson (either of them!), or Big Walter Horton. He’s been making records for more years than Little Walter was alive. Piazza is a tried-and-true, dyed- in-the-wool blues veteran with credentials that are second to none.

So, it was still 1968 and Rod started a new band which would be the beginning of Bacon Fat. One night, Richard Innes and Rod went to see who they thought was Big Walter Horton at the Ash Grove in Hollywood. After a 60 mile drive, it was actually Big Walter Smith, as the club owner informed them, who actually was George Harmonica Smith. He was dumping his harmonicas out on the stage from a paper sack. Some guy in the back yelled out, “Can I play some guitar Mr. Smith?” George said “yeah” without even looking up. So, Rod was feeling a little cocky and said, “I’d like to blow some harp.” By the time the show started the club had filled up. Rod and Richard were crowded in right to the front of the stage. When George started

wailing, Rod looked at Richard and said, “Man, I don’t want to sit in!” They both laughed in agreement but when they looked up, here came George with the harp and mic, shoving it towards Rod face like he was saying, “You wanted to blow. Now let’s see what you can do!” He gave one of those fierce looks that he was famous for and shoved the harp and mic at him one more time. Rod had no choice but to take them both and start playing.

Afterwards, Rod said to George, “Thank you for letting me play.” George simply said,

“You’re welcome.” It’s always been that way with Rod. A kind word and a cool tone behind everything he does. It is one of the things that makes him stand out among the blues musicians he peers with. His styling is one of a kind, his crowd, all smiles. Take advantage of your chance to smile and come see Rod live at the Coach House.

Rod Piazza is scheduled to play live Friday, March 16th at the Coach House. Also playing that night are Sugah Daddy and Gunboat Kings. Tickets are $15, doors open at 6PM and the show starts at 8PM. For tickets, dinner reservations, and more information please call the box office at 949 496 8930 or visit thecoachhouse.com.

Raised on the rough streets of Compton, J Boog was led in the right direction by his family’s values and tradition that ultimately kept him off the streets and led to his success.

J Boog’s older sister played the piano, and at the young age of four, J began singing along with his sister, and learned the music of Bob Marley after she brought home his music book. His first big performance was at just nine years old at a family reunion. By request of his mother and sister, he sang Whitney Houston’s “One Moment In Time”.

His career became serious in 2005 when he met George “Fiji” Veikoso, and the two began working together. J made the move to Hawaii to work on his album “Hear Me Roar” and joined Hawaiian-based record label Wash House Music Inc. Just a year later, J met Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage and the two went to record in Jamaica with other Wash House members. They recorded at places such as Bob Marley’s “Tuff Gong” studio, Don Corleone’s “Hit Maker”, and Shaggy’s “Big Yard”. The results of his hard work have paid off. His new album, “Back Yard Boogie” debuted at #1 on iTunes and Billboard Reggae Charts.

The authenticity of the combination of Island and Reggae music is apparent in J’s music. J Boog will be performing at the Coach House with Hot Rain and Hi-Roots on Wednesday, March 7th. For tickets, dinner reservations, and more information please call the box office at 949 496 8930.

However it was the first season’s winner, Javier Colon who really captivated America.

Javier’s career did not begin with The Voice. He toured with The Derek Trucks Band for two years, and released two solo albums released by Capital Records in 2003 and 2006. He eventually split with the label and went on to release an EP on his own label in 2010. After nearly a decade of challenges to his music career , he was ready to give up.

Javier didn’t throw in the towel just yet. When he heard about a chance to audition for The Voice, he took the opportunity. Javier’s voice was mesmerizing and entranced audiences, performing songs such as “Landslide” with Stevie Nicks, or an acoustic version of Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time”. His voice brought him all the way to the final show in which Javier was announced season one’s winner. His victory earned him a contract with Universal Republic Records.

During the first week release of his original single, “Stitch By Stitch”, the song peaked at #17 on Billboard Hot 100 chart. His newest album, Come Through For You features appearances from Natasha Bedingfield and Adam Levine.

Javier Colon will be performing at the Coach House on Friday, March 2nd. Tickets are $25. For tickets, dinner reservations, and more information please visit thecoachhouse.com or call the box office at 949 496 8930.

Woody’s archive manager asked McDonald to put music to Woody’s lyrics that were lacking music. McDonald performed “Woman At Home” which was released on the album recording of the event. This opened up the gates for McDonald to explore Guthrie’s music.

In 2001, McDonald was asked by the National Steinback Center to perform for the Smithsonian Institute’s traveling tour of “This Land Is Your Land : Life and Legacy of Woody Guthrie”. In preparing for the performance, Joe explored Woody’s archives and found his correspondence with singer-songwriter Malvina Reynolds, his musings on bootleg alcohol, and the New York subway in Woody’s column titled, Wood Sez from the 1950s. Through these discoveries, McDonald also made a few more connections with Guthrie. Besides their obvious bond of music and politics, they both married East Coast intellectuals, and Woody lived just 100 miles in Oklahoma from McDonald’s father during the Dust-Bowl era. McDonald continues to make connections with Guthrie every time he performs the tribute.

McDonald brings the tribute to the Coach House on Sunday, March 4th. Tickets are $20. For tickets, dinner reservations, and more info please call the box office at 949 496 8930 or visit thecoachhouse.com

Little did he know then that he would soon be living out his dream of being a Country Music Recording Artist.

“It has been such a long journey and it’s been a lot of hard work, but at the same time it feels like it’s just flown by”, claims the six-foot-five California native.

In the summer of 2009, Brandon released his third studio album “For Anything”, and penned 9 of the 10 songs. The lone cover, a countryfied version of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train”, is the first cover Brandon has recorded on any of his albums. The first single, “In The Name of Freedom”, premiered Independence Day weekend exclusively on LA’s 105.1 Go Country to great reviews, and has also been a hit in his live concerts.

A true showman, Brandon’s live shows are full of energy and surprises. His songs take the audience on an emotional roller coaster of highs and lows, and connect with them in a very genuine way. He has headlined many of Southern California’s most sought-after venues and shared the stage with many well-known national acts, including Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Gary Allen, Dierks Bentley, Hal Ketchum, Cross Canadien Ragweed, The Mavericks’ Raul Malo, Jimmy Wayne, Mark Wills, David Allen Coe, the legendary Glen Campbell and Country Music Hall of Fame members Asleep at the Wheel.

“There is nothing like the thrill of performing live and sharing my music with others,” says Brandon, “I have a great group of friends that have a blast making music together. The fun we have on stage really shines through to the audience, because it is sincere and genuine. We love what we do, and I think it shows.”

The title track of Brandon’s second album, “Drive Real Fast”, was a breakout song for his career. The single received national radio airplay and was nominated for many awards including an LA Music Award for Song of the Year. It was also featured in many NASCAR Sprint Cup race commercials and in partnerships with 14-time Funny Car Champion, John Force.

In addition to his many concert appearances, Brandon has cherished opportunities to reach out and help those in need. He has partnered with many organizations, including The Finally Home Foundation, The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, OC Walk to Remember, GINA for Missing Persons and John Force’s ChiPS for Kids (to name a few).

As Brandon’s career continues to move forward, he credits his faith, as well as his family and friends for their love and support.

“I am truly having the time of my life,” Brandon exclaims, “It’s been an incredible ride and I am thankful for each day I have been able to live this dream. God has blessed me with a great family, amazing friends, and I have been fortunate to have met some incredible people along this journey. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I am one lucky guy!”

The star comes well-deserved as they released seven albums, six of them being either gold or platinum selling. Some of their best-known songs that covered the airwaves in the 70s were; “A Horse With No Name”, “Sister Golden Hair”, “Ventura Highway”, “I Need You”, “Don’t Cross The River”, “Tin Man”, and “Lonely People”.

Their success in the early-70s won them Best New Artist at the Grammy’s, but by the mid-70s exhaustion from a heavy tour and recording schedule resulted in some inter-band conflict which took its toll on the group. Yet the band rose to meet these challenges by reworking their sound, management, producers, and their dedication to songwriting. This helped them soar to the top of the charts with their 1982 single, “You Can Do Magic”.

The band is currently on their 40th Anniversary Tour, which celebrates 40 years of music making for the band. America will be performing songs reflecting the band’s songwriting skills by revisiting songs from their first self-titled album, as well as some standards for the band such as “I Need You” and “Three Roses”.

America’s 40th Anniversary Tour comes to the Coach House on February 24th. Beyond Conception and Don Brennan are the opening acts, doors open at 6PM and the show starts at 8PM. Alongside other founding members, Don played a prominent role in the recordings of the highly acclaimed Love Crisis album for producer Prince Jammy in 1977. The said album was later re-released and re-titled as Black Sounds of Freedom. A year after the trio’s ground breaking debut, Don Carlos surprisingly decided to part from the band in pursuit of a solo career. Having needed at least three years to get the grips of being a soloist, it wasn’t until May 1981 that Carlos re-emerged, courtesy of a heavy, roots and culture flavored show case album titled Suffering for Negus Roots.

Since then, Carlos has built and consolidated a staunch following through touring the live circuit, plus twelve solo albums .Although he reached the peak of his solo career during the heydays of the eighties dance hall , he is still churning out solid, melodic roots reggae.

Carlos will be at the Coach House with Phat Reggae Dub Status and Roots Revival on February 15th. Tickets are $18 presale and $20 day of show.
In 1994, Lisa Loeb released her hit song “Stay” from the soundtrack of the film Reality Bites. Lisa is the only artist to never have signed a record contract with a number one single, and her song still resonates with testament to her songwriting and storytelling skills. With her signature cat-eyed glasses and platinum #1 song, Lisa built on her career with her early success, diving in to different facets of music, film, voice-over work, and children’s recordings.

It is no surprise that Lisa will be joined by singer-songwriter Jill Sobule, who’s success kicked off with her hit single; an MTV staple and National Top 20 hit, ”I Kissed A Girl” (Nope, Katy Perry was not the originator of this song!). Another hit single from the same self-titled album was “Supermodel” which was featured on the Clueless soundtrack. This jump-started her career with Jill going on to create four more albums. California Years was released on Jill’s own album, completely funded by $85,000 worth of donations by fans alone.

Join Lisa Loeb and Jill Sobule at the Coach House with Tara Porter on February 4th.Tickets are $25.
The band gets quite a few cover requests, and they just can’t narrow it down to one. That’s where you come in. Request a song on their Tour d’Amour VI event page that you’d like to hear. The post with the most “Likes” by noon on Monday, 1/30 will win a pair of tickets to the show of their choice, and the band will play YOUR choice at the show! Follow these steps to enter to win:

1) Head on over to https://www.facebook.com/events/126862204091097/

2) Make a post on the event page stating the song you would like to hear, and who it’s by (or most popularly known by).

3) Get everyone to “Like” your post (within reason of course..no crazy billboards or air planes displaying the link to your post via clouds in the sky)

Didn’t win the above contest, or find yourself to be more of a poet? For a chance to win a pair of tickets to ALO’s show at the Coach House AND have your haiku read to kick off the show, you can submit a haiku to the event page for the Coach House date. Same rules as above apply, the fan with the most likes on their post, will win the tickets! Here are the steps to enter to win tickets:

1) Go to https://www.facebook.com/events/269575933104075/

2) Create your haiku! Haikus are Japanese poems in a 5-7-5 syllable pattern. In spirit of the tour, try to make a love-inspired haiku!

3) Encourage everyone to “Like” your post on the event page!

Good luck to everyone, these are two great opportunities to win tickets to the show!

Terri just announced via her Twitter (twitter.com/terriclarkmusic ) that she would be taking some requests from fans!

To submit your request for a song for Terri to play at her Coach House date, create a post on Twitter naming the song you want to hear, and a hash tag with the words #TerriClarkInSANJUANCAPISTRANO !

For example, if you want to hear A Million Ways To Run you would post:
